What is a Telegram?
A telegram is a message transmitted by telegraph, cable, or radio signal. The customer would have placed their order at a local office where the clerk took the message together with payment which was calculated on the number of words used. The message would then have be transmitted to the nearest office to the recipient.
Is the traditional service still provided?
Some services are still offered but it has largely declined.
What does the site offer?
The site enables you to order a greetings telegram similar to a traditional one. You can choose from a choice of designs, type your greeting and preview your telegram.
How does the telegram come?
The telegram is posted in an envelope incorporating a design intended to resemble a traditional service. It comes in A5 size and is posted in a C5 sized envelope. Both are made from 100% recycled paper.
What is the method of postage?
The telegram is sent Royal Mail first class post for national orders and Royal Mail International Standard for international orders. You have the option to select next day signed for postage.

The total price payable is £5.95, which includes postage.
How do I use the site?
Step 1
Choose your telegram by clicking the “View Telegrams” button on the homepage to view the gallery. Select a telegram and type your greeting on the preview page. Select “Add To Cart” then “Show Cart” to continue.
Step 2
Select "Checkout as Guest" or "Register". You will be taken to the order information page where you can enter your contact and recipient details.
Under “Enter Your Details” please enter your name. (This doesn’t have to be your real name.)
Please only enter your address if you want the telegram posted to you. Check the “Post to me” box to confirm. Your telegram will be posted to you in a larger padded envelope containing the telegram and telegram envelope.
Under “Enter Recipient Details” please enter the name and address of your recipient. You do not need to enter an address here if the telegram is being posted to you.
You can then enter the dispatch date and stamp date. The stamp date is the date for the ink stamp. This can be the same as the dispatch date or the date of a special occasion.
Under “Shipment” please select your preferred postage option.
Step 3
Click “Confirm Purchase” to proceed to the payment page where you can pay by PayPal or card.
Once payment is confirmed we will review your order and send a confirmation email. Please allow sufficient time for us to review and reply.
Please note that is is not yet possible to capture an image of your telegram order.
Once your order has been posted we will email confirmation of dispatch. This will include any reference numbers for orders posted by special delivery.
How secure is the payment transaction?
The site is not involved in the financial transaction at any time and does not process any financial data. Your transaction will be processed between you and our payment service provider PayPal.
How will I know if my order has been placed?
You will receive a confirmation of your order by email. (Please check your spam folder if not delivered to your inbox.)
What exactly is the dispatch date?
The dispatch date is the date you choose to send out the telegram. The date we pop your telegram in the post box.
What is the stamp date?
The stamp date is the rubber ink stamp date stamped on the telegram. This could be the same as the dispatch date, a birthday date, wedding or anniversary date.
Will my personal information ever be passed on to a third party?
No, we only ask for the required contact information required to process your order and for delivery. The information you provide is handled in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
